Termite Not Giving Information

I have wired my controller with all necessary connections (everything except green, blue, and brown wires), with my serial connections and black ground wire being connected to this Adafruit serial-to-usb converter on the rs-232 side ( USB to Multi-Protocol Serial Cable - RS-232 / TTL UART / RS-485 : ID 5994 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits ). Whenever I put a command into Termite, the data light on the converter lights up, but Termite does not display a response to the command (i.e. nothing comes out when I put in GETHW or GETFW). I was wondering if anyone has encountered a similar problem and what the fix was, since I was trying to make it to where the heat setting was either on slow or on the 10 minute timer.

You need to use the UART pins on the converter, I think they are labelled “TTL”

Also make sure the heater ground (white wire) is grounded or the unit will be in bootloader mode and not respond to normal serial commands.

I tried that today and still no results. Termite will give me a random chunk of nonsense and then won’t respond with any of the given commands. I’ve switched the rx and tx around, I tried it with and without the o2 plugged into the controller and I still get nothing. The o2 doesnt even seem to heat up when I stary the car to try and get a reading

I ended up fixing it, it was a wiring issue, however I can’t seem to log with serial in and out. Termite is receiving and responding to commands and there are 5v to the green wire, but no data is given to me with serial connection through my logger, RomRaider
