Subaru Ground Wiring

I am confused as to how to properly wire up a Subaru to the S3L.

The car supplies +12v when the key is in the on position.

The Electronics Ground is wired to chassis.

The Heater Ground is wired to the ECU and is switchable based on RPM.

I currently have it set to SLOW3 being triggered by exhaust heat.

So the question is, if Heater Ground is set to OFF when the car hits ignition, then the S3L goes into bootloader mode. Will it return to normal operation once Heater Ground is enabled by hitting 500RPM?

Second question, if i reverse Electronics Ground and Heater Ground, will having heater ground connected and powered cause the o2 to heat up? or will the unit be inactive until Electronics Ground is connected?

Thanks

If the heater ground, white wire, is disconnected while the black and red wire is powered, the unit will be in bootloader mode and stay in bootloader mode even if you ground the white wire afterwards.

If the heater ground is connected without the black wire connected, the unit goes into an indeterminate state, it may damage the controller and/or the sensor.
