Spartan 3 Lite v2 Serial Interface

I’m planning to upgrade to the Spartan 3 Lite v2 from the Innovate LC-1 controller.

I use the LC-1 serial proprietary format to transmit the measurement data into a custom gauge to display the AFR.

What format does the Spartan transmit the data. Does it use a standard proprietary format or can there be a firmware update that will replicate the Innovate LC-1 format. The ideal solution
