CAN connection questions

Hi there,

I’ve got a Spartan 3 V1 in a new build and am trying to get CAN comms all dialed in. The documentation doesn’t quite seem to be right though. V2 says BIG endian, V1 says little, but gives wild readings unless I use BIG.

My status just sits at zero, though the CAN stream is doing stuff.

Temp sits at right around 770-780° jumping back and forth in 10° increments, at idle, and gets there quite fast. Does that seem right? My ECU doesn’t seem to like that value. Right now I’ve got the status and temp streams removed, since I don’t think I trust the data. I’d love to add them back in though.

Anyone else trying to get all the data out of one of these?

Big endian is correct.

Thank you! Any thoughts on the temperature values? What range should I expect to see as normal?

770-780 is fine, everything is good.

Okay, good to hear. Is that 780C? Or F? I assume C.

The temperature is in Celsius.
